Volkswagen Passat GT Concept — GT Concept Gives Better Visual to Volkswagen Passat. Volkswagen Passat is never famous for its appealing design. Of course, the design is not bad, but it is just too conservative for the current market trend in the mid-size sedan segment. Thankfully, Volkswagen finally addresses this issue by introducing GT concept for Passat. GT concept will give some visual upgrade for the very traditional Passat and makes it look more sporty and aggressive.
Volkswagen Passat GT Specifications
Interior, Exterior design
VW Golf GTI will inspire the design of Volkswagen Passat GT Concept. It will come with new honeycomb grille with distinctive red accents. In addition, the concept also shows new bumper, red brake calipers, trunk spoiler, LED headlight as well as dual exhaust outlets in the trapezoid shape. Furthermore, black window surround, black mirror caps, and black roof panel becomes a nice contrasting element for the white body paint of the exterior.
Since GT concept aims to give Passat sportier and more aggressive stance, the suspension is lowered by 0.6 inches, and the car will roll on 19 inches Tornado wheels.
The cabin will be given a lot of carbon fiber pattern treatments, in particular on the doors and the dashboard. Furthermore, this concept also features wheel-mounted paddle shifter, two-tone (black and gray) sports seats with contrast stitching and center console trim in gorgeous piano black.
Since VW Passat GT concept emphasizes the visual upgrade, the company also promises to offer more than 20 individual design changes. So, the customers can give more personality to their car.
Engine — Volkswagen Passat GT Concept
VW GT concept is developed to give new looks to the conservative VW Passat. But this concept is not all about the looks. To back up its new sporty and aggressive stance, GT concept is equipped with the powerful engine. It seems like the power will come from 3.6 L VR6 V6 engine that delivers 280 HP.
The slight power upgrade is also possible, especially if VW wants to add more credential to the car. But even without the power boost, the 280 HP output is not disappointing and definitely can help VW Passat with GT badge to compete in mid-size sedan class.
