Volkswagen Crossblue Spied on Road Test. After the concept revealed in 2013, the new Volkswagen Crossblue production version has been spotted on a road test recently. Even though it has no camouflage, the tested vehicle use disguise to misdirect people who spot it. Even though the official specs are not announced yet, we should be able to estimate it based on the concept. Here is the update on the new SUV.

Powertrain, Engine details
Based on the concept, the new VW BlueCross is going to be fueled by the hybrid powertrain. This car is going to be a diesel hybrid SUV, getting power from TDI Clean Diesel engine of EA288 range, generating 190 hp of power output, the front electric motor that makes 54 hp, rear electric motor that produces 114 hp, and lithium ion battery in central tunnel.
In combination, this car has 305 hp of power output 700 Nm of torque performance. The engine combination is paired with the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This is more than enough power to change the VW midsize SUV to a full-size. Driving experience will be completed with few driving modes as well, including Sport Mode, Eco Mode, Off-road Mode with all engaged all-wheel drive configuration, Charging Mode, and EV Mode.

Exterior and Interior
From the Volkswagen Crossblue concept, the new SUV should have nice dimension, 4,986 mm long, 1,732 mm high, and 2,014 mm wide, offering enough leg and head room, built on MQB platform. The SUV will ride oversized 21 inches alloy wheels with 235.45 tires on it. The wheel arches are flared significantly as well.

Even though the crossblue spied vehicle has no camouflage, several false parts are used as the disguise so we can’t possibly see the entire outer details. The interior is reported to seat up to seven passengers in total, which is an improvement from the six-seat concept. We need to wait for official details on the entire styling, but this is going to be a nice looking and nice equipped full-size diesel SUV.
2017 Volkswagen Crossblue Release Date and Price
Until today, the automaker hasn’t specified the VW Crossblue release date, but the car is planned to be produced later this year with the first debut in early 2017. Most possibly, it will be released later in 2017 or 2018. Volkswagen Crossblue price is not known yet, maybe later after specs are officially confirmed.
