Subaru Viziv-7 Concept — Subaru Returns to the Three-Row Crossover Game. Subaru has unveiled a brand new concept at the LA auto show called the Viziv-7. “Viziv” means “vision for innovation” and they added a 7 to note that it’s a 7-seater. This is their first three-row, mid-size crossover since they discontinued the Tribeca in 2014. The Tribeca always seemed awkward and out of place in the Subaru lineup, but the new Viziv-7 should be right at home.

Exterior, Interior Reviews
It mostly follows the current Subaru design language, but a bit more bold and futuristic. When it almost certainly goes into production, we can expect a slightly more subdued look than the one we saw today. Rumor has it; the production model is going be called the “Ascent” since Subaru recently trademarked that name with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
This concept is bigger than most of its future competitors. While it has a similar wheelbase to the competition, this new Subaru is expected to be longer, taller, and wider than most. The dimensions we know are 72” height, 79.9” width, and 204.7” overall length with a wheelbase of 117.7”. A likely reason Subaru is making their new, big crossover so large is to compensate for the notoriously cramped Tribeca.
This is terrible news for Volkswagen. They’re still trying to get back on their feet after the disastrous “Dieselgate” scandal, and part of that effort is the upcoming Atlas crossover. This new Subaru sets it sights squarely on the Atlas and should make for a fierce competition.
Both crossovers should have no problem selling because that class of vehicle is extremely popular in the US, but VW just lost a big market share to Subaru. One advantage that VW has over Subaru is the Atlas is hitting the market in Spring of 2017, and the new Subaru isn’t coming out until 2018.

We haven’t seen any images of the interior. And, we don’t know technical specifications yet. But, we can reasonably expect a turbocharged four-cylinder and perhaps the 3.6L boxer six that’s found in the Outback.
Subaru Viziv-7 Concept Price and Release Date
Pricing is also a mystery. The exterior is all we know about this concept, so it’s still in its early stages. When it’s done, and on the market, it should be a strong entry into the competitive mid-size crossover segment.
