Subaru Exiga Crossover7 X-Break . Subaru just launched X-Break trim level for its off-road-oriented Exiga Crossover7 for the Japanese market. Exiga has been on the market since 2007 while the Crossover7 model was introduced in 2015.
The addition of this new trim level to Crossover7 is hoped to bring a fresh start for this 7-seat wagon. Crossover7 was developed to bring the more off-road vibe to the aging Exiga. To make the car more convenient and durable to be driven off the road, the suspension of Crossover7 was raised by 20 cm. As a result, this car has 170 mm of ground clearance, which definitely suitable for the off-road situation.
Moreover, the exterior is protected by black plastic molding and accentuated by silver skid plates at both ends. In addition to those elements, the Crossover7 was also given new C-shaped LED positioning lights and distinctive 17” alloys.
In the cabin, the tan leather upholstery with blue-green contrasting stitches become one of the most noteworthy parts in the car. Furthermore, customers can also upgrade to suede and leather options if they want to.
What X-Break Trim Level Brings
Crossover7 already looks so bold and strong but the X-Break trim level make the off-road oriented car looks more rugged. This new trim level brings plenty of new elements both for the exterior and interior which distinguish this outdoorsy car with the standard Crossover7. Outside, the car gets black plastic side claddings as well as side mirrors in the same color.
The car now rolls on 17” alloy wheels in dark gray finish, and X-Break was badging on the side, and rear part of the car become the cherry on top. Also, X-Break trim is also available in 5 choices of exterior colors: Crystal Black Silica, Quartz Blue, Venetian Red, Crystal White and Tungsten Metallic.
Inside, the dashboard on the passenger side gets tan and black leather accents instead of black and silver like in the standard trim. Since this is an off-road oriented car for people who love the outdoors, the seat upholstery in this trim level is really special.
Instead of the usual ordinary leather, the seats are upholstered in fabric and synthetic leather that is dust resistant. Furthermore, the cargo comes with reversible floorboard that can be easily cleaned and rinsed down, allowing the owners to store muddy boots or wet scuba gear without any worries.
Since the beginning, Exiga is only offered with one engine, and it is not going to change now. Buyers that opt for the X-Break trim level will get the usual 2.5 L naturally aspirated flat four engine, churning out 171 HP and 235 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to Lineartronic CVT as well as Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system. In addition, the fuel economy also remains at 13.2 km/liter.
