Renault Duster Xtronic CVT — Last year, Renault launched a diesel AMT Duster in India, and it performs pretty well in the market. Now, the French automaker is currently preparing to launch a CVT petrol variant of the popular Duster that is said to be officially launched next month. Ahead of its debut, Autos Arena recently captured the petrol CVT Duster at a showroom and it definitely looks interesting. Let’s find out what we can expect from the new automatic Renault Duster.
Renault Duster Xtronic CVT Specifications
The car that was photographed by Autos Arena earlier comes with ‘Fiery Red’ exterior color. But it will not be the only body paint color available, though. Besides the Fiery Red, Petrol CVT Duster also will be available with other six colors—White, Grey, Red, Silver, Orange and Brown.
Besides the popping colors, the exterior is also beautified by other elements such as 16 inches gunmetal alloy wheels and black front grille with the glossy finish. Meanwhile, in the cabin, some of the most noteworthy features include 7 inches AV touchscreen infotainment system as well as red contrast and accents around the HVAC vents.
Furthermore, this petrol CVT variant is based on Duster RXS trim, so we also will see the other original elements from that trim in this model. In addition to all those great features, it also has been confirmed that this car will come with ESP, hill start assist as well as ABS with EBD.
Even though Renault Duster is one of the most favorite models in India, this particular segment is pretty packed, and the car will face so many challenges from its rivals. Probably this is why Renault steps up its game, especially in the safety department. While the MT duster only has the airbag on the driver side, this new model comes with dual front airbags.
Previously, Renault has offered a Duster with 1.6 L petrol engine in India. Even though that model sells pretty well, the new automatic Renault Duster that is recently spied will not be equipped with the same engine. Instead, it will come with a 1.5 L 4-cylinder petrol engine and mated to a CVT gearbox. Speaking of the CVT gearbox, it is the same with what we have seen in Nissan Sunny and Renault Scala. T
The engine will be able to generate 161 PS, and 134 Nm of torque and the fuel economy is reported to be around 17.5 km/ liter. Besides, power will be sent exclusively to the front wheels, and according to reports, all-wheel drive option will not be available for this model.
Renault Duster Xtronic CVT Price and Release Date
Renault Duster X-Tronic CVT with petrol engine will arrive in India dealership starting from next month. It has been confirmed that the price will start at 10.32 Lakhs for the ex-showroom car.
It means the automatic Renault Duster will be in the similar price range with the likes of Hyundai Creta with 1.6 L petrol engine and automatic transmission (12.99 Lakhs) and Honda BR-V CVT (12.26 Lakhs). Besides those two cars, the new Renault Duster with petrol engine also will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport that is priced at around 9.99 Lakhs.
