Mitsubishi L200, ASX Geoseek – 2016 Mitsubishi L200 and ASX made a comeback in 2016 Geneva Motor Show as GEOSEEK concept cars. We’re not so sure that we can call these two cars as concepts since they clearly are reincarnations of Mitsubishi L200 pickup and ASX Crossover with some additional accessories. Mitsubishi is not popular in the US market for these past several years, but with some changes and rejuvenation of their two most favorite cars, we definitely can hope for something great in the real production later.
Mitsubishi L200, ASX Geoseek Specifications
Interior, Exterior – Brand New Paint Color
At first glimpse, the only thing changing from Mitsubishi GEOSEEK concept cars are the paint colors. Now both GEOSEEK cars have shiny solid pearl gray. Some orange accents are added on the mirror caps, wheels, and the fog lamps. The exterior design is looking great with muscular and sturdy looks and new mesh inner front grille.
There is not much news going around about the interior. But the manufacturer said that these concept cars cabin would be covered with all black suede light fabrics and some touches of orange trim, just like the exterior.
From the design, it’s crystal clear that these cars are aimed at outdoor enthusiasts. Just like the name suggests, this car emphasizes beautiful off-road exploration performance. Both new concept cars get additional high roof rack that can hold many camping and outdoor equipment and also front skid plates. Mitsubishi GEOSEEK L200 gets new working lights while the Mitsubishi GEOSEEK ASX will get brand new LED fog lamps.
We haven’t landed our hands on any information regarding the engine specs. But if Mitsubishi wants to aim to outdoor enthusiasts, these concept cars need to be equipped with the off-road ready engine. For the GEOSEEK L200, at least it has to match the current L200 Series 5 capability with 178 BHP diesel engines. And also, more than 4000 kilograms total load capacity. It must also be equipped with the all-wheel drive system that can manage to perform well in any terrain.
Release Date and Price
These concept cars are showed along with the brand new compact crossover Mitsubishi eX. It is confirmed that Mitsubishi eX will be equipped with the latest technology EV system. So, there’s a chance that GEOSEEK will be lucky and get the same sophisticated engine. Even though the concept cars are not impressive, we never know what surprise Mitsubishi will offer us in the future.
