Denza 400 EV Offers Really Nice Mile Range. Denza 400 is going to be a serious rival for Tesla’s cars. With automakers are racing to produce their affordable electric car, this Chinese company co-owned with Daimler is offering something very special. The compact crossover is said to provide more range than most EV in the market right now. Here is the update on the car.
Denza 400 Specifications
Exterior, and Interior
Most of the released information is focusing on its technical details. The look of the Denza 400 EV car itself is not extraordinary. This is basically a compact crossover built based on Mercedes-Benz B-Class. It features rather a sloppy roof and chrome details on its front end. Window frames and low skirts are finished in chrome as well.
Seating up to five passengers in the cabin, this car makes a good alternative to a city driving. Even though the design is still beautiful to look at, it is a little old-fashioned for today’s taste. This car is built on 2,880 mm of wheelbase. The dimension is 4,642 mm of length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,642 mm of height.
Powertrain, Range – Denza 400 EV
The most interesting highlight on this car is on its electric powertrain. Instead of using the standard battery capacity, this compact crossover is powered by electric engine backed up by 62 kWh battery pack. The electric powertrain can generate up to 86 kW of power output and 290 Nm of torque performance. In its top range model, the Denza 400 Aurora, this powertrain can produce 135 kW of power output and 300 Nm of torque performance. It is also claimed that on the single charge, this car can run up to 249 miles or 400 km. This is an impressive number comparing to other EV in the market or even the upcoming ones. The acceleration rate of 100 km/h is enough, 14 seconds in standard variants and 10.5 seconds in Aurora variant.
Denza 400 Price and Release Date
This car is available in China right now. Before rebate and everything else, the mid-level trim, the Executive, costs $62,606. After rebate and tax break, this trim costs $46,000. Pricing on the top range variant, Aurora, isn’t specified so far, but we should know it soon. Unfortunately, this model will be available in China only so far.
Even though the body kit design is not very appealing right now, this company has a great chance of building affordable and extended range EV in the future. A new model is a potential option in the market, though. How do you find the new Denza 400?.
