Lamborghini recently released a very interesting short video teaser. The 40 seconds video features a series of Lamborghini’s iconic cars. Starting from the company’s first car, the 350 GT, the mid-engined Miura, Diablo, Countach and also the mighty Aventador.
At the end of the video, mysteriously asked us “What will be next?”. Hinting that a new Lamborghini car is on its way to the market. Speaking of new Lamborghini, Aventador that has been around since is 2011 is currently due to a facelift. Therefore, it is safe to say that the “next” model the teaser talks about is the facelifted Aventador, 2017 Aventador S.
Lamborghini Aventador S Facelift Leaked Specs
As a matter of fact, this is not a mere speculation since we have two proofs suggesting that Aventador S is ready to hit the market. The first one is the spy shots of a disguised new Aventador spotted testing in Nurburgring a while ago. Secondly, last week Lamborghini filed a trademark for Aventador S which strengthening the proof that it is indeed Aventador S that is teased in the video.
All design updates in Aventador S are intended to increase the car’s performance. First of all, to improve aerodynamics, it adopts some of Aventador SV’s styling cues that include larger wing and new deep front splitter. Besides improving the aerodynamics, SV’s styling cues also help to distinguish the S model from the standard Aventador.
In addition to the SV bits, the air vents in the new car is also redesigned. And, sleek honeycomb vent is added at the bottom. Moving to the rear, the most noteworthy update in that part is the restyled diffuser that houses new exhaust exit. Speaking of the rear diffuser, we can notice that it comes with larger tunnels, indicating that the new car will come with bigger downforce.

Since Aventador S is a facelifted version of Aventador and not an all-new model, it is not surprising that the same 6.5 L V12 engine comes under its bonnet. However, the new car will get a boost of power. From the initial 690 HP to 710 HP (535 kW) and 690 Nm of torque. Consequently, the new power output puts Aventador S above Aventador but still below 740 HP Aventador SV.
It is not confirmed yet, but we can expect Lamborghini Aventador S to arrive sometime in the first months of 2017. More updates about this car will be revealed early next year.
