Honda NeuV Specifications
#Updated: January 8, 2017: In terms of design, this two-seater electric car looks stand out due to its tiny mono box shape and headerless windshield. The door is made up of the entire side panel which swings up electronically with a simple touch of the key fob.
Since glass dominates the side panels/doors, the car will seamlessly blend into the surrounding while providing better visibility for the passengers. The car also comes with an electric skateboard to save you from congested traffic or when you think walking was so last century.
The most noteworthy thing about this future Honda NeuV concept is its sophisticated Artificial Intelligence technology that is developed by Cocoro SB. The AI technology will be called “emotion engine”. And, just like what the name suggests, this technology will make NeuV, the automated EV commuter vehicle, capable of showcasing its emotion.
It is still unclear what Honda means by that. But the company said that NeuV is intended to “create new possibilities for human interactions and new value for customers.”
Furthermore, as “new modes of in-car connectivity”, NeuV also will be able to reduce traffic congestion. The Japanese automaker also promised that this futuristic concept would take autonomous driving to the next level. And, even fix problems that usually associated with this technology.
AI and Autonomous Driving
#Updated: January 8, 2017: The most noteworthy thing about this concept is certainly its Artificial Intelligence and autonomous driving system. Meet Hana (Honda Automated Network Assistant), the name of Honda NeuV Artificial Intelligence System co-developed by Honda and Softbank.
Hana’s emotion engine is capable of understanding the owner’s preference from his or her driving history. Hana’s emoji-like face is displayed on the car’s full-width touch panel infotainment screen on the dashboard. If you say hello to her, she will smile and say hello back to you.
Hana is equipped with the heart-rate monitor and facial recognition system. As a result, this AI system can detect changes in your heart rate, emotion, facial expression.
When Hana concluded that you are feeling down, it can make a suggestion for you to stop and buy a cup of coffee or to set up your favorite playlist to cheer you up simply.
Furthermore, Hana can also be a protective mother for you. When the system senses that your driving is getting sloppy, it will automatically take over and switch to ‘Easy’ driving mode to keep you safe.
Honda is also currently developing Cooperative Mobility Ecosystem. That will incorporate Artificial Intelligence, robotic and big data to improve customers’ mobility experience. In order to support its innovation, Honda will also use the launching event at CES 2017. Which that to announce the company’s collaboration with various startups and global brands that will provide additional technologies and invention for the ecosystem.
Up to this time, Honda has not revealed anything regarding the drivetrain for NeuV. But, full electric seems like the possible option. In addition to the electric powertrain, we can also expect a set of completely new and high-end infotainment system as a part of NeuV once it is released to the market.

It is reported that NeuV will have a range of around 160 to 320 km which is pretty impressive considering its mini size. It is not confirmed yet but Jarad Hall, a company representative, said that NeuV might be RWD. “This is meant to be a cool, sporty small car, not something cutesy.
