Atieva Atvus Electric Will be the Next Rival for Tesla Model S. Many car manufacturers have tried to challenge Tesla’s supremacy in the world of the electric car but to no avail. Tesla is still number one regarding technology and efficiency. It turns out, and this condition doesn’t scare Atieva. This Chinese supported manufacturer plans to produce Atieva Atvus EV. And, this car will be the next in line to be Tesla’s rival.
Atieva Atvus Specifications
Many people doubt that Atieva has what it takes to build something that can match Tesla Model S. However, Peter Rawlinson, ex Tesla’s chief engineering has come to the rescue and help Atieva makes its sophisticated electric car. Now, with Rawlinson joins the team, we feel curious how Atvus will look like and whether it is capable of challenging Tesla’s supremacy finally.
Exterior and Interior Design
The design of Atieva Atvus is still very mysterious. But as a luxury sedan that offers high velocity, we can expect it to have streamlined and stylish body. Rumor has it; this auto will come with no door handle concept that will make the design looks exquisite. This is going to be a four-door sedan with the futuristic look but also with a slight of 80s touch. Probably, it will have some GM’s EV 1 vibe in it.
Engine, Electric Range Specifications
The engine of Atieva Atvus electric has been tested on Edna van. And, the result is not disappointing at all. Even with the large shape and the less aerodynamic structure of Edna, the engine is capable of reaching a 0-62 mph in less than 3 seconds.
Atvus itself is planned to be a fast luxury sedan so we can expect even a more rapid result in the final production. That electric engine is rumored come with front and rear motor, capable of generating around 900 HP and will have 200 miles range.
Atieva Atvus Release Date and Price
Atieva plans to make 20.000 cars in the first batch of production and make a target sell more than 130.000 units in the US alone. Even though Atieva Atvus Electric is such an ambitious project, the manufacturer doesn’t want to take too long to launch this car to the market. This electric car will hit the market sometime in 2018. There is not much time left, and this project will definitely be risky. However, launching the car in 2018 is necessary because it is predicted that more electric vehicles will be launched before 2019. So, it is a smart move to avoid too much competition.
