New 2017 Honda City — Honda City is already a household name in India with constantly improving sales annually. However, even the popular Honda City is not safe in this current competition, especially with the facelifted Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna joining the battle.
Because of this, Honda City brings many new improvements in its facelifted 2017 model. The soft-touch dashboard is definitely the most noteworthy update. But, that is only one of many great things we can anticipate from 2017 Honda City.
2017 Honda City Specifications
Overall, the design of new Honda City 2017 version will be pretty much the same with the current model. However, we can expect some new styling elements such as updated bumper with more distinctive air dam, new headlamps with the projector and maybe bigger housing for the fog lamps.
Furthermore, Accord-inspired nose with more bling thanks to the chrome accents could also be on the menu. The refreshed car also could get a new set of alloy wheels with the diamond cut finish that will make the vehicle looks more premium. Meanwhile, for the rear part, it is reported that the tail lamps get a new design as well as LED lighting.
For the interior, it is rumored that all-black dashboard from the outgoing model will make a comeback in the future Honda City, hence more elegant and sporty vibe in the cabin.
But the most noteworthy part of the cabin is the new infotainment system. The infotainment system is co-developed by Honda and Blaupunkt, and it will be equipped with the touchscreen and Android Auto connection. So far, Auto CarPlay compatibility is not mentioned. For range-topping models, it is possible that Honda has prepared six airbags, sunroof and leather upholstery.
Nothing confirmed yet regarding the powertrain. However, it seems like Honda doesn’t have any plan to introduce new engine to the refreshed Honda City. Therefore, it probably will come with the same engines with the current model. The first engine is 1.5 L i-VTEC 4-cylinder petrol unit. While the another one is a 1.5 L i-DTEC 4-cylinder turbodiesel mill.

Even though the engine remains the same, it is reported that the transmission will be updated. If this is true, the 1.5 L petrol variant will be paired to a similar transmission with Honda BR-V that is a 6-speed manual gearbox.

2017 New Honda City probably will be launched around mid-January 2017. That is three years after the outgoing model hit the market. Furthermore, it is not officially confirmed yet, but it is reported that dealers will accept bookings very soon.
