2020 Nissan Juke Could Arrive without Diesel Lineup. Everybody will agree that Nissan Juke is a legend. Since it was first introduced back in 2010, 700,000 units have been successfully sold globally. This is an impressive number considering other SUV brands’ number of sales barely reaches 100,000 units.
Now that the original Juke has reached seven years mark, it is about time this iconic car gets a new generation. The good news is, that is exactly what we will get. According to Motor.es, the Japanese automaker is currently working on the second generation Juke.
2020 Nissan Juke Specifications
Unfortunately, it seems like the new Nissan Juke will not arrive in 2017 as what have been suggested by some reports. Nissan doesn’t say anything about this, but we can draw the line since we haven’t seen any concepts nor spy shots. It is reported that we will see the new Juke in 2020, still a long way to go but definitely a more make sense time than 2017.
Nissan said that the next generation Juke will get “natural evolution”, thus it will continue the radical and polarizing design just like the current model. A rendering for the new Juke has been made, and it is based on Nissan Gripz concept and Nissan VMotion 2.0 Concept. Besides, it is rumored that the production version later will borrow some modern styling elements from the fifth generation Nissan Micra.
2020 Nissan Juke will use CMF-B platform. The car will be shorter, but it is 18 cm wider than the first generation. Thanks to the wider body, we can expect the second generation Juke to have the more spacious cabin, hence more comfort for the passengers. Furthermore, it will also have bigger boot space with at least 350 L capacity in the non-AWD model.
Just like the 2017 Nissan Micra, we can expect the new Nissan Juke to offer the higher level of personalization. Consequently, customers can personalize their new Juke with various exterior elements as well as opt for better cabin materials.
Nothing confirmed yet, but it seems like the second generation Juke 2020 will be powered by a turbocharged petrol engine with two power outputs. The basic model will get the 120 HP variant while the more potent 170 HP variant will be reserved for higher-end trims.

Reports suggest that hybrid powertrain is highly possible. If the Japanese automaker will give a hybrid powertrain to the new Juke, e-Power is the most feasible option. This hybrid powertrain combines a small gas unit to charge the battery that will be responsible for powering the electric motor.
Furthermore, it is also said that diesel engines will not have a place in the second generation Juke engine lineup. This is because the car will be equipped with a new turbocharged petrol engine that is claimed to be as efficient with the diesel units but with lower cost.
