2019 Volkswagen T-Roc — We know that Volkswagen is currently adding more models to its SUV lineup. SUV market has not stopped growing, and it seems like people just love Volkswagen SUV. This is why we are going to see more VW SUV in the upcoming years. Up to this time, the Germany automaker has introduced the new Atlas as well as the redesigned Tiguan.

After those two cars, a redesigned Touareg as well as a small SUV based on T-Cross Breeze concept, which will not be sold in the US by the way, are also currently prepared. It is still unclear when the latter two will be launched, but let’s put them aside first because Volkswagen has another SUV that will be revealed this year.
It is based on the T-Roc concept that was introduced back in 2014 at Geneva Auto Show, and it will keep the name of the concept. The production version will debut at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show, and a video teaser was released last Thursday ahead of its debut.
The recent video teaser has revealed plenty of things about the upcoming 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc. Overall, the production version looks pretty much the same with the concept. It is underpinned by Volkswagen MQB platform, just like its predecessor the Golf and 7-seater Atlas, and it retains the dimension of the concept. The length is 164.5 inches, and the width is 72.1 inches. In terms of design, T-Roc looks similar to Audi Q2, but we can also spot some distinctive differences.
Despite of those similarities with the concept, there is one major difference that distinguishes the concept with the production version that was recently teased. While the concept comes with the 3-door layout, the production version has 5-door which makes it more practical and more appealing to SUV enthusiasts.
It is reported that the production version of Volkswagen T-Roc will carry the same engine with the concept. Since the concept is equipped with a practical engine, instead of something too good to be true like most concepts are, it is possible that the production version will really come with this engine.
The said engine is a direct injected 2.0 L inline-4 turbodiesel engine from Golf GTD. The engine is paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and churns out 182 HP. It is also very likely that the car will come with AWD system. Besides, a range of petrol and diesel engine also will be available.
2019 Volkswagen T-Roc Release Date and price
There is a rumor that the production version of 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc will be fully revealed as early as next month. But the chance is high that it will stay as a rumor, and we will see the real T-Roc a few months later at September’s Frankfurt Auto Show.
Furthermore, it is reported that the new SUV will arrive in dealerships sometime next year as 2019 model. As for the pricing, no information has been revealed so let’s just patiently wait for further updates. Once it is launched, it will compete with the likes of Chevrolet Trax, Mini Countryman, Nissan Juke, Toyota C-HR and Honda HR-V.
