Ssangyong Q200 Pickup Spotted Testing, Probably Will Debut in 2018. Ssangyong’s 1-metric ton pickup truck, Actyon Sports, actually has pretty remarkable performance. The machine is good, and the price will not make you scream in pain. To be fair, this truck has what it takes to be people’s favorite. Unfortunately, this vehicle is not that well-known due to the lack of brand recognition and dealership network.
But turns out, being unpopular doesn’t stop the South Korean based automaker to give Actyon Sports an all-new generation and it could be launched sometime next year. The test mule has even spotted testing recently on a snowy road.
2018 Ssangyong Q200 Specifications
Even though the new 2018 Ssangyong Q200 model will be a continuation of Actyon Sports, it is rumored that the name will not be used anymore. According to reports, the new truck is codenamed Q200, but it is still unclear whether it will be the real name or not.
Regarding design, there are some important visual cues we can see from the spy photos. First of all, it is obvious that the rear bumper and the taillights are the same with the current Actyon Sports. However, the new model has longer wheelbase and doors.
At this stage, the most noteworthy element that indicates that the car that was captured in the spy shots is indeed an all-new model are the new headlight design and also the shape of the A-pillar.
No words yet regarding the powertrain, but it seems like a 2.2 L turbo diesel engine that churns out 178 PS and 400 Nm can be a excellent candidate. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, but it is reported that customers will have the option to choose automatic transmission as well.
As for the automatic gearbox, the number of gear has yet to be decided. It is said that the new Q200 will get the same automatic gearbox as the all-new 2017 Rexton. The problem is Ssangyong has not announced the detailed specifications for the new Rexton, so let’s just patiently wait for further updates.

Ssangyong Q200 pickup could have selectable 4-wheel drive system as well, accompanied by a locking differential. Furthermore, blind spot monitoring and 360-degree camera system could also be equipped with the new pickup.
Ssangyong is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in South Korea, and it has been in business since 1954. Now, it is a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra limited after the Indian multinational company took over 70 percents of Ssangyong’s share back in 2011.
Frankly speaking, Ssangyong’s vehicles are not bad at all, some are even praised for its quality and excellent performance. But no matter how good Q200 might be, it will suffer the same fate with its predecessors if the company doesn’t do something to increase its brand recognition.
