2018 Nissan Qashqai Facelift Prototype Spotted with Heavy Camouflage. When the first generation of Nissan Qashqai was launched back in 2006, people barely cared about this SUV. But its performance spoke for itself, and it started getting recognition until Nissan decided to give the popular SUV the second generation in 2013.
The fame kept going strong with the second generation. As a matter of fact, it remained one of the most popular and well-loved SUV even when hundreds of new SUV models appear in 2015, and of course, nothing can take its throne even now in 2017.
2018 Nissan Qashqai Facelift Specifications
Speaking of 2017, the second generation is now almost four years old this year. It means, plastic surgery is due for 2018 model year, and the prototype of the facelifted model has even been caught on camera. The refreshed second-generation Qashqai was spotted doing some road test in Spain with plenty of camouflage. Judging from how hard the engineers work to cover the prototype, we can bet that facelifted Qashqai will get plenty of serious updates.
Most visual updates go to the front fascia with the grille becomes one of the most noteworthy new elements. At first glance, there is nothing special about the new grille. But take a look closer, and you will realize that it is clearly inspired by 2017 Rogue (X-Trail). In addition to the new grille, the car also gets new full LED headlights and redesigned bumper. Surprisingly, we also can see new mirror caps. It is the very unusual approach, but we still really appreciate it.
Furthermore, even though it is hard to pick up other details due to the amount of camouflage, we believe that facelifted Qashqai will borrow some elements from Qashqai Premium concept that was introduced at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. We can make this conclusion thanks to the alloy wheel design and the position and shape of the fog lights.
The 2018 Nissan Qashqai Facelift spy shots don’t provide any details regarding the interior. But it seems like the cabin could benefit from Qashqai Premium Concept’s elements as well. Probably something fancy like Nappa leather to upholster the seats.

There is no information yet regarding what kind of engine will come under the bonnet of the facelifted Qashqai 2018. However, it seems like we will not go far from the usual 4-cylinder engine with a turbo, both in petrol and diesel form. Besides, the engine will also be paired with a CVT gearbox with D-Step Logic Control shift simulation.
Furthermore, it is reported that the refreshed Qashqai 2018 will benefit from Nissan’s new semi-autonomous driving system, ProPilot. Nissan once stated that the company would launch vehicles with multiple lane control which could automatically change lanes during highway driving when it is deemed necessary. Furthermore, the company also said that the next-generation model could even navigate city intersections all by itself without the driver’s intervention.
