2018 Kia GT Production Version Is Almost Ready. Kia GT concept was introduced five years ago in 2011, and now, the production version is finally just around the corner. Recently, an image from Kia-World reveals some examples of 2018 Kia GT in the production guise.
2018 Kia GT Specifications
If you still remember how great Kia GT concept looks like and you want the production version to look similar to it, well, prepare yourself to be disappointed because the real production version only brings very little design cues from the concept. But it is really not a problem because the almost-final design looks excellent.
So 2018 Kia GT uses 2018 Genesis G70 platform but here it comes with the longer wheelbase. At the front, the car gets large headlights and air intake as well as two new vents.
The vents are certainly not for show only because it is placed there to support the 3.3 L V6 engine under the hood. Furthermore, we can also see multi-piston calipers hiding behind the massive wheels.
Even though this car comes with the sloping roofline, Kia guarantees that it will still have plenty of headroom. It will also have more leg room thanks to the longer dimension of the car. In addition, glass roof might also be offered as an option.
Engine Specs — 2018 Kia GT Stinger
The Kia GT 2018 concept was rumored to bring a V8 engine under the hood, but it turned out it featured a V6 engine. The same goes for the production version that will get its power from a V6 engine, probably a 3.3 L-twin turbocharged T-GDI Lambda engine that can deliver 395 PS (390 HP) and 394-pound feet (534 Nm) of torque.
With this output, we can expect this car to have around 5 or 6 seconds of 0-100 km time. Moreover, mated to the engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission that will distribute power exclusively to the rear wheels.

For the European market, it seems very likely that 2018 Kia GT will come with a diesel powertrain as well. It is not confirmed, but it could be the 2.2 L CRDi diesel unit borrowed from Sorento SUV. This engine produces 200 PS (197 HP) and 441 Nm (325-pound feet) of torque between 1,750 and 2,750 RPM. For this engine, the manual transmission is the possible option.
