2018 Kia Cadenza Hybrid . Kia Cadenza is one of the automaker’s most successful models which was launched as Kia’s effort to enter the ever competitive mid-size luxury segment. Last year, which is three years after its debut, Kia Cadenza got an all-new generation and received the full makeover for the very first time. It was launched in last year’s New York Auto Show in March as 2017 model year.
This year, once again Kia jumps to the current trend by introducing the hybrid version of Kia Cadenza. Nowadays, automakers are competing in launching the hybrid version of their popular models. The mid-size luxury segment is not immune from that trend. And, even such car like BMW 5 Series is also now available with the hybrid powertrain. So, it is not surprising to see Kia unhesitantly goes the electrification road and gives the newest Cadenza a hybrid powertrain as well.

Do you think the performance of this car is just so so? Well, judging solely from the power output, yes, nothing so special about those numbers or powertrain. But if the car’s fuel efficiency is taken into consideration, Kia Cadenza will beg to differ. It is said that the fuel economy of Kia’s newest hybrid car is 16.2 km/ liter or 38.1 mpg or can also be translated into 6.1 L/100 km.
Yes, this number is not that impressive either, and we have seen some other cars boast better fuel efficiency. But still, the fuel efficiency rate is still above average and not bad. Besides, this is a 1,680 kg (3,703 pounds) mid-size luxury car we are talking about. For a car this size, only 97 gram of CO2 emission per kilometer is pretty commendable.
