2018 Cadillac CT6 — Spy shots of what could be 2018 Cadillac CT6 has been revealed. The two cars were flown into Australia under full secrecy, but of course, someone still managed to take some pictures. From Tullamarine Airport, Melbourne the cars were sent straight to GM’s Holden Lang Lang proving ground.

In some occasions, Cadillac has hinted that they are preparing a new 4.2 L twin turbo V8 engine for their upcoming 2018 Cadillac CT6 model sometime in the future. Some speculations have been going around that the two cars arrived in Melbourne earlier are actually housing that powerful new engine. If it is true, this car is going to be a hit and will help with Cadillac’s effort to enter the Australian market.

Looking at the spy shots, we can conclude that there are no significant changes to the exterior. The most noteworthy revision is in the exhaust pipe. While the previous CT6 has two traditional wide trapezoidal exhaust pipe, the new one feature quadruples exhaust pipe.

The base model seems like to be powered by 2.0 L LTG turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. And, that power is sent to the rear wheels only. Meanwhile, the other one is the Platinum All-Wheel Drive version with 3.0 L LGW Turbo V6 engine. This is still a rumor.

In fact, Holden representative stated that the cars are just parts of GM’s global work share program where local engineers are participating in testing products to be marketed in the US. Furthermore, the representative also said that there is no plan to launch the car in Australia.
However, we should not ignore that rumors are going around about Cadillac intention to enter the Australian market. In fact, Cadillac’s leader himself has announced this plan proudly since 2014.
