2017 Skoda Octavia RS230 Details and Specifications — After waiting for almost a year since 2017 Skoda Octavia RS 230 was confirmed for the Australian market, this special edition car finally arrives in Oz and officially on sale. By upgrading the engine and borrowing some special feature from Volkswagen Golf GTI performance, Skoda claims that RS230 is the fastest Octavia in history.

2017 Skoda Octavia RS230 comes with some exclusive gloss-black styling that sets this special edition car apart from the regular version. The special styling includes black rear spoiler and exhaust tips, 19” Xtreme alloy wheels and new front grille. Another exclusive addition to Octavia RS 230 is the new lap timer function in the car’s multifunction display.
Inside, this Octavia RS230 2017 car gets the luxurious black leather seat with vibrant red stitching, electronically adjusted sports seat and stainless steel pedal. Besides, it gets with 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel covered with perforated leather and accentuated by the same red stitching. Furthermore, dual zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, satellite navigation and 8” touch screen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and also Android Auto are standard in this particular edition car.

Engine — 2017 Skoda Octavia RS230
Power comes from 2.0 L turbocharged petrol engine that is borrowed from VW GTI Golf Performance. The engine is upgraded. And, as a result, it is now able to deliver 230 HP or 169 kW and 350 Nm of torque (162 kW before the update).
It is capable of making the 0-100 km/hour sprint in 6.7 seconds and can hit a top speed of 250 km/hour. The wagon is slightly different. The 0-100 km/hour time is 6.8 seconds, and the top speed is 247 km/hour. Opposite to Golf GTI that comes with 6-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, RS230 only gets the 6-speed manual transmission.

Furthermore, the incredible performance is backed up by electronically controlled locking front differential which is capable of sending all the torque to one of the front wheels. This feature is also taken from VW Golf GTI performance.

New 2017 Skoda Octavia is on sale in Australia now but only 70 units available initially. There is a high possibility that Skoda will sell more units if the demand is high.
