2017 SEAT Leon Facelift Specifications
Features, Exterior, and Interior
First, the 2017 SEAT Leon Facelift updates should happen to all models under Leon flag including the hatchback, ST estate model, the SC, rugged X-perience, and range-topping Cupra. The most visual tweak on the outside is on the front bumper that has been finished with chrome and stretched for around 40 mm. This car will also offer three new colors for finish and alloy wheels too. The front and back lights now feature LED signature as well.
On the inside, SEAT makes sure buyers will find the new LED ambient lighting that will be available in several colors for option, electric handbrake, new seat upholsteries, and new door cards. All 2017 facelifted SEAT Leon cars, except for the entry level, will get new eight-inch touchscreen display with less buttons. Digital dash is also new in this car. There are several features added too, which already appear in Ateca. Mirrorlink, Android Auto, and Apple Car Play will be available again. SEAT also adds Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and wireless phone charging.
A new trim will be added on the line, dubbed XCELLENCE, and it will focus more on luxury options than anything else. This trim should come along with other trims including SE Dynamic, SE, Technology, and FR. All cars in Leon flag will use the same MQB chassis technology.
Powertrain, Changes, Engine — 2017 SEAT Leon Facelift
On this new Seat Leon updated model, SEAT officially introduces two engines in its lineup. First, there will be turbocharged three cylinders 1.0-liter engine that generates around 113 bhp of power output. This is the same engine we can find in VW Golf and Audi A3.
The new 1.6 liters of a diesel engine will join the lineup as well, generating the same 113 bhp of power output. As in its’ predecessor, the engine will be mated with five-speed and six-speed manual transmission. In the alternative, buyers can also pot for the DSG auto transmission unit. The Cupra model is reported to be powered by turbocharged 2.0-liter engine as well.
