2017 Cadillac Dpi-V.R will become the proof that Cadillac is still there, in the supercar race. Yes, Cadillac plans to use this car to compete in 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, in Prototype (P) class. This is one of prestige competition of prototype car in North America. And, as we see the car, we can say that this is very Cadillac-like.
2017 Cadillac Dpi-V.R S Specifications
First of all, the 2017 Cadillac Dpi-V.R design is cool. And, if you look closely, you can see the taste of CTS-V super sedan from Cadillac. There are also many Cadillac’s trademarks here and there. For example, the vertical lighting designs.
There is also body side feature line, which has the bolded line. As Andrew Smith, Global Cadillac Design executive director said, this car will be the new area where Cadillac can develop their design. This will be the great way for design and sculpting team to develop more of their designing concept with this car.
Now, from some of the spy photo, you still can’t see the color, because Cadillac uses the camouflage like usual, for this car prototype. However, many people believe that it will use dark or black color.
Because this is the supercar and they also use it for racing, we can expect some high spec in it. And, it does have it. Cadillac chooses the 6.2-liter V-8 engine for this car. It’s the same architecture with Cadillac CTS-V and Cadillac Escalade. Both of them can produce around 600 horsepower, so we also can say that Dpi-V.R also can provide the same power. The engine can also provide torque at 7,600 RPM.
For the speed purpose as well, Cadillac trimmed down the weight of this car. If you compare it with CTS-V, DPi-V.R only has weight around 2,050 lbs. The lightweight will make this car can run faster than you can imagine. Maybe that is what Cadillac aim when they make this car.

The race itself will start in early 2017. Therefore, we can expect the official launch of this car will be soon enough. And, for the price, we can’t find it, which is normal, we can say. As we all know, this is prototype or concept car. Therefore, there is the slim chance that it will be released for the commercial market, even in limited edition.
