2016 Nissan Patrol Legend Edition — After two good decades, we finally have to say goodbye to Nissan Y61. To deliver a memorable swan song for its loyal customers, Nissan has decided to launch 2016 Nissan Patrol Legend Edition.
Despite its excellent reputation as a well-rounded car with good off-road credentials, ending production is inevitable. The main reason is that Y61’s platform is already too old. Hence, it can no longer accommodate the newest technology and safety systems to appeal to broader range of customers. Furthermore, the diesel engine would not comply with the latest Euro5 emission regulation and it is a very clear sign that Y61 has arrived at the end of the road.
2016 Nissan Patrol Legend Edition Specifications
NEW 2016 Nissan Patrol Y61 Legend Edition is based on the top-spec ST model. But since this is goodbye, the company decided to go all out and showered the new car with $10,000 worth of accessory. This special edition car includes top-notch off-road kits such as steel bull bar, factory-fitted snorkel, tow bar, electric winch, roof racks and also spare-wheel cover.
Inside, the car gets satellite navigation, reverse camera. In addition, Bluetooth connectivity, gear shift knob and steering wheel wrapped in leather, as well as manual air-conditioning, are also added. Regarding the safety system, there is nothing sophisticated added and this car sticks with only two airbags.
The 2016 Nissan Patrol Legend Edition also gets a set of 17” alloy wheels wrapped in 275/65 tires that contributes in making this legend edition looks rugged. Furthermore, the customers can choose between three exterior colors available, White Diamond, Polar White and Platinum.
Nothing changes regarding engine, so the legend edition of Y61 is still powered by ST’s same old 3.0 L turbo diesel engine. Powers will be sent to all four wheels by either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission and the power output will depend on the transmission chosen.
If customers opt for manual transmission, the engine will deliver 118 kW and 380 Nm. Meanwhile, for automatic, the power is rated at 118 kW and 354 Nm.
